Yeah, same garbage here. It’s not even a “wave” anymore, it’s just constant background noise. I’ve had a little luck with signup friction too, but honestly if they’re determined they’ll still get in. The annoying part is the legit new users sometimes get annoyed by the extra step while the bots just keep spamming like idiots.

Personally, Yeah, same here. It’s not even subtle anymore — half of it looks like it was copied by the same idiot bot farm with different usernames slapped on top. To be fair, Personally,

To be fair, sure. Yeah, that “Google’s punishing me for cleaning my room” thing is annoyingly familiar. Half the time it’s not even the prune itself, it’s the weird little support stuff you didn’t think mattered until it’s gone. Then the money pages just sit there like dead fish. I’d be suspicious of anything that changed internal paths or took away a bunch of contextual links. Google loves pretending it’s smarter than that, but it’s usually just reacting to the mess you made. Could be wrong though. Sure.

Yep, same here. One site got kneecapped and the other one’s doing that lovely “maybe it’s back, maybe it isn’t” thing. At this point I don’t even bother calling it an update anymore, it’s just traffic roulette. Interesting take. That’s how I look at it.

Honestly, yeah, I’m still not convinced it’s just “noise” either. When the same pages keep doing the disappear/reappear thing, that’s not exactly comforting. Mine’s been weird for like 4 days now — not a full tanking, just enough to make you keep checking it like a lunatic. And of course it’s always the pages that were finally behaving for once. Google really does love messing with the least convenient stuff. That’s been my experience anyway.

Right… Yeah, I’d stop assuming it’s just GSC being drunk and start checking what actually changed. Every time I’ve seen a proper cliff drop, there was *something* there, even if Google’s charts were also acting stupid on top of it.

Sure. Honestly, in my opinion, yeah, I’ve been seeing the same mess. Feels like Google’s got a dartboard out again. What’s annoying is it’s not even consistent site to site — one property gets pages crawled and indexed stupid fast, another one with better internal links just sits there like it’s been forgotten. Then some trash page with next to nothing on it gets in right away. Real classy stuff. I don’t know if it’s just another indexing wobble or if they’ve changed how they’re queuing stuff, but it’s definitly not “your setup is cursed” by default. That’s the part that keeps me from blaming the site first every time. Too many people are seeing the same pattern.

I mean, yeah, I’m seeing weird stuff too. One of mine got hit pretty much the same way — no changes, no links gone, nothing obvious, just… lower. The “wait it out” line is so lazy when it’s been sliding for more than a couple days. Sometimes it really is just Google being weird, but I swear half the time that’s just people coping because they don’t wanna dig.

Honestly, yeah, same here. Not a clean “site exploded” kind of drop, just that annoying slow bleed where a few pages get kneecapped and everything else starts looking suspicious. And of course it’s always “maybe your content sucks” until u actually look at the SERPs and see Google stuffing the page with junk. Real helpful stuff, as usual. I’d be way more interested in whether the impressions fell first, because clicks dying alone can just be layout garbage, but if impressions are down too then something shifted. Could be an update, could be them fiddling with intent again, could be one of those lovely “we changed nothing” weeks where Google changes everything. I’m not touching anything major until I’ve checked a couple days of SERPs and GSC patterns. If it’s across multiple pages, same timing, same vibe, I’d be pretty skeptical it’s some random plugin issue.

I mean, yeah, same here. Not panicking yet, but it’s one of those annoying “looks fine until you check clicks and want to throw your laptop” situations Well,. I’ve had this happen before where rankings looked mostly stable and GSC was just acting possessed for a few days.

Well, yeah, been seeing more of it too. Same old garbage, just a different coat of paint. At this point it’s usually either a bot wave or some bored lowlife with a script. I’d check the logs first before changing a bunch of stuff though — half the time it’s obvious once you look at where it’s coming from. And yeah, don’t go nuclear unless you have to. Making real users jump through hoops because some spam farm got busy is always a fun way to kill a forum. Interesting take.

Kind of feels like yeah, same here. To be fair, I’ve had that exact “fine-ish / then nope” pattern way too many times now to get excited about it anymore. And honestly I’m with you on the quality-content sermon. Feels like people just say that when they don’t actually know what’s going on. In my opinion,

in reply to: Traffic tanked after weird index lag #3918

Yeah, same here. “Indexed” has felt pretty useless for a while now — like Google’s just filing stuff away and deciding later if it deserves to exist. I’ve had pages sit for days with basically zero movement, then suddenly they’ll either wake up or get buried for no obvious reason. And it’s not just new junk either, which is the annoying part. I’ve seen old pages on decent sites do the same weird dead-in-the-water thing. The whole “must be your content” line gets old fast when multiple sites are doing it. Feels more like timing/eval lag or whatever flavor of nonsense they’re on this month. CTR being down makes sense too when the SERPs are packed with garbage and the real result gets shoved halfway down the page. At this point I barely trust GSC day to day. It’s just a noisy little drama box. That’s been my experience anyway. Obviously. Okay then.

in reply to: Affiliate pages tanked overnight again #3914

Yeah, I’m seeing the same kind of junk on a couple of my pages. One day they’re holding, next day it’s like someone kicked the legs out from under them. What’s annoying is when Search Console starts acting up at the same time, cause then you can’t even tell if it’s real or just Google being its usual mess. I’ve had comparison pages get hit harder than normal content too, especially if the SERPs are shifting around or some big box got shoved in above the results. I’d still check whether the drop is all queries or just the money terms. Last time this happened to me, impressions were kinda there but clicks got wrecked, which made it look way worse than it was. Could’ve been snippet stuff, could’ve been device split, could’ve been Google deciding to be weird for a week. Hard to tell anymore. If it’s the same story by next week, then yeah, maybe there’s actually something off. But overnight cliff drops on affiliate pages? Been there too many times to immediately…

Yeah, same old story. “Nothing changed on my end” and then Google decides your site’s a problem anyway. I’d be looking at impressions first, not just clicks. If impressions got nuked too, that’s not your cache plugin suddenly becoming sentient. If impressions are mostly there but clicks died, then maybe the SERPs/snippets got uglier or you got shoved under some garbage above the fold. And honestly, cheap hosting + a pile of plugins is still worth a quick sanity check, but I wouldn’t bet the farm on that being the main cause. Google’s been doing that lovely thing where stuff just drifts for no reason and everyone pretends it’s “content quality.” Sure, Jan.
