Kind of feels like in my opinion, Well, yeah, I’ve seen that too and it’s annoying as hell. Usually when I get that weird indexing burst + traffic drop, it’s some junk URLs getting picked up first and then the decent pages get a bit wonky while Google reprocesses everything. I’d check what actually got indexed, not just the spike itself. If it’s tag pages, thin archives, weird parameters, whatever… that’s usually the mess. Just my experience.

Yeah, I’d be careful blaming it on “just an update” too fast. If GSC impressions/positions are basically flat but clicks tanked, that usually feels more like snippet/CTR weirdness or SERP layout changes than a pure ranking drop. I’ve had it where the page is still sitting there but Google’s suddenly showing some ugly rewritten title or stuffing in more junk above the result. Also worth checking the boring stuff first, annoyingly — plugin changes, caching, theme updates, anything that could’ve messed with titles/meta or slowed pages down. I’ve seen one stupid plugin conflict make a site feel dead for a week and it wasn’t even Google. If it’s all pages, I’d lean site issue or SERP change. If it’s just a cluster of pages, then yeah, probably update noise or intent shift.

Personally, yeah, I’d stop blaming the plugins first too unless you actually changed something recent. If Search Console is bouncing around with it, that screams update weirdness to me, not “your cache plugin secretly murdered the site.” I’d still check for any quiet plugin updates or broken theme stuff, but honestly Google’s been acting flaky enough lately that I wouldn’t panic yet Honestly,. Also, if it’s an affiliate blog, those swings can…

Personally, Yeah, I’d be looking at the plugins first, not Google just randomly being weird for fun. I’ve had a cache plugin break stuff after an update before — not a full site crash, just enough to mess with indexing and make traffic look cursed. Check your source code on a couple pages and see if the SEO plugin flipped anything dumb like noindex, canonical weirdness, or messed up sitemap output. If Search Console impressions dropped too, that feels more like crawl/indexing than a normal ranking wobble. What plugins did u update?

I mean, from what I see, Yeah, I’d be looking at hosting + cache before I blamed the theme or Rank Math. That “fine for a few days, then gone, then back” thing is *so* annoying, and honestly it usually feels more like Google wobble mixed with a slightly crap server than some big obvious issue. LiteSpeed Cache can also be a bit weird if it’s not set up cleanly. If your host is meh, that alone can make things feel unstable. Not saying it’s definitely that, just… I’ve seen enough janky setups to not trust “site feels fine” lol.

To be fair, yeah, I’m kinda with you on this one — “improve content” gets thrown around way too fast. I’ve seen the same stupid crawl/discover thing where it looks like Google’s paying attention, but nothing actually settles. The URL path swapping is the part that makes me think it’s not just normal crawling weirdness either. Could be trust, could be some ugly quality bucket, could be they’re just being extra stingy with that property for a bit. But I wouldn’t call it crawl budget first, honestly. That feels like the lazy answer people reach for when they don’t know what’s happening. That’s been my experience anyway.

To be fair, kind of feels like yeah, I’d stop pretending that’s “normal” at this point tbh. If the spam junk is getting picked up in hours and your real pages are just sitting there, something in the crawl/render path is probably off, even if the content itself is fine. I’ve seen this on WP when the “real” pages are heavier, slower, or buried behind stupid plugin layers. Google’s not exactly fair about it. In my opinion,

Yeah, I’m seeing that too and it’s honestly maddening. Feels like the page gets “approved” after the whole little traffic window is gone, which is just… great 🙃 I’ve had better luck when the site’s already stable and not fighting some plugin/hosting…

Well, yep, same and it’s infuriating. Usually it’s not that Google “likes” the junk, it just finds it faster because it’s easier to crawl/render. Real pages get slowed down by WP crap way too often — bloated theme, lazy-load weirdness, too many plugins, bad canonicals, whatever. I’d be looking at crawl path and server response before blaming the content itself.

Yeah, I’m seeing it too and it’s honestly getting old. Crawled fast, then just sits there like it forgot what to do next. And yeah, the expired-domain / parasite stuff getting picked up quicker is annoying as hell. Makes normal sites feel like they’re on some weird probation or something. I keep thinking it’s trust or throttling, but who knows with Google lately.

Well, yep, same here on one of mine. Clicks got hit way harder than impressions and it’s making me nuts. I’d check the actual SERP on mobile before changing much else — Google’s been shoving so much junk up top lately that the organic result almost feels buried. Meta desc tweaks barely do anything for me either unless the snippet was already awful.

Yeah, same. I hate the “just wait” answer too because it’s basically useless when your traffic drops and bills don’t care. I’ve had a couple sites wobble this week and nothing obvious changed either, so I’m not convinced it’s always something we did. Sometimes Google just seems to shuffle stuff around for no reason and it’s infuriating.

Honestly, to be fair, yep, same here. One of my sites took a hit this week and I swear I didn’t touch a thing. The “wait it out” crowd always says that like it’s comforting lol. Sometimes it really is just Google being weird for no obvious reason. That’s how I look at it.

I mean, yep, same here. It’s like nothing is actually *stable* right now, which is the annoying part. I’ve got one money page that’ll pop up, then slide back down a few spots, then act normal again the next day. And of course the random fluff post is the one Google seems obsessed with for no reason 🙄 I’m not touching titles or links much either. Every time I’ve tried to “fix” stuff during one of these swings, it just makes the whole thing messier. Could be update junk, could be crawl weirdness, who knows anymore.

Yeah, I’d be leaning update noise too. If Search Console impressions are bouncing around and you didn’t touch anything, it usually isn’t some random plugin suddenly ruining your whole site. I’d still check cache/security plugins and maybe server logs if you can, but I wouldn’t panic yet. Honestly this is the part that drives me nuts too — everything looks “fine” and Google still acts weird. At least from what I’ve seen.
