meloncrashParticipantInteresting take. To be fair, mine have been all over the place the last few days. Up, down, gone, back again like Google’s just messing with us for fun. I know, “just wait it out” and all that, but it’s hard not to stare at Search Console like an idiot when traffic drops for no obvious reason. Anyone else getting this nonsense or is it just my sites being chosen for punishment again?

DenParticipantHonestly, yeah, same here. Last couple days have been a bit of a mess, but I’m not ready to call it anything yet. Could just be one of those Google wobble periods again. Annoying as hell either way. At least from what I’ve seen. In my opinion,

meloncrashParticipantI mean, yeah, same here. One site dipped like 20% then crawled back two days later, so I’m not even bothering to panic properly yet. That said, Search Console’s been looking like a broken slot machine lately. I’ve had pages vanish for a day, then pop back on the same damn query with almost no change on my end. Google being “busy” or whatever is probably true, but it still feels like nonsense.

meloncrashParticipantRight… Yeah, same crap here. One site’s doing that stupid up/down/up/down thing like Google can’t decide if it even exists. I’m not buying the whole “just a wobble” line every time either, but what else are you gonna say, right? Stare at GSC until your eyes bleed and pretend it’s useful data.

ParticipantTechnically, from what I’ve seen, yeah, I’m seeing it too, but I wouldn’t read too much into the daily noise. Feels more like indexing / re-eval churn than anything clean, especially when the same pages are bouncing in and out on the same queries. What’s annoying is when the logs don’t show anything dramatic — no crawl spike, no obvious template change, no internal linking mess — and then GSC acts like the floor fell out. That’s usually when I stop trusting the dashboard and look at server logs + cached snippets + a few manual queries. Could still be one of those “Google’s reprocessing stuff in the background” periods, which is a dumb phrase but whatever. If it settles in a week or so, fine. If it keeps whipsawing past that, then I start looking harder at canonical weirdness, soft 404-ish behavior, or pages getting filtered by intent shift. Honestly,

meloncrashParticipantKind of feels like well, yeah, I’m seeing it too, but I’m kinda with you on not trusting the “just a wobble” line anymore. Mine’s been doing that annoying bounce where a page looks dead, then suddenly it’s back like nothing happened. GSC’s basically useless for my sanity at this point. Could be wrong though.

ParticipantYeah, I’m not really buying the “normal wobble” thing either if it’s the same URLs doing the hokey pokey every couple days. Feels more like reprocessing / intent churn than anything clean. The annoying part is when nothing obvious changed on the site and GSC still acts like somebody kicked the server rack. At least from what I’ve seen.

meloncrashParticipantHonestly, yeah, I’m still not convinced it’s just “noise” either. When the same pages keep doing the disappear/reappear thing, that’s not exactly comforting. Mine’s been weird for like 4 days now — not a full tanking, just enough to make you keep checking it like a lunatic. And of course it’s always the pages that were finally behaving for once. Google really does love messing with the least convenient stuff. That’s been my experience anyway.

orion_kadeParticipantYeah, same here. Not a clean drop either, just that annoying on/off crap where one day it’s fine and the next it’s like Google forgot the page exists. I’m not calling it “normal”…

ParticipantYeah, I’m seeing it too. Not a total faceplant, just enough churn to make you question whether anything’s stable for more than 48 hours. I’d be a lot more suspicious if it was the same URLs flipping in and out, though. That usually isn’t just “weather,” even if people love saying that. From what I see,

meloncrashParticipantRight… In my opinion, yeah, same crap here. Not a clean drop, just that stupid flip-flop where you start wondering if Google’s just bored Honestly,. And no, I don’t buy the “it’s just volatility” handwave every time either.

ParticipantYeah, same. Not a clean drop, just enough wobble to make you keep refreshing like an idiot. What’s been annoying me is it’s not even the whole site in a neat pattern — it’s a handful of URLs flipping around, which usually makes me think indexing/canonical/rendering weirdness more than “lol Google volatility.” Could still just be another one of their little tantrums, but I don’t trust it when the same pages keep disappearing and reappearing.

ParticipantYeah, I’m seeing it too. Not the dramatic “site fell off a cliff” thing, just the annoying little seesaw where the same URLs keep swapping positions and you can’t tell if it’s a real signal or Google being sloppy again. What’s been making me side-eye it is when the churn lines up with crawl weirdness or stale canonicals. If it was just broad volatility across the whole SERP I’d shrug more, but when it’s a few pages bouncing in and out, that usually isn’t nothing. I checked a couple logs and saw Googlebot hitting the usual stuff, but not in any pattern that made me feel better about it. So yeah, same nonsense here. Not panicking yet, just tired of the refresh loop. In my opinion,

ParticipantYeah, same here. Not a clean tank, just that annoying wobble where you don’t know if it’s a real issue or Google doing its usual nonsense. I’ve got one site where a couple pages keep swapping positions every day or two, and it’s *always* the same cluster. That’s usually when I start checking canonicals, internal links, and whether something dumb changed in the template or plugin stack before I blame “volatility.” Honestly though, half the time it’s just Search Console making people paranoid. Still, if it’s the same URLs bouncing and not the whole site, I’d be…

DenParticipantHonestly, In my opinion, From what I’ve seen, yeah, same here, but I’m not convinced it’s all “Google being weird” either. When it’s just a couple URLs bouncing, I usually start looking at the boring stuff first — canonicals, internal links, page titles/meta changing, that sort of thing. Seen too many “volatility” threads turn out to be one dumb template issue or a plugin doing something stupid. That said, if it’s across different sites and not just one niche, then yeah, probly broader mess again. Either way, refreshing Search Console every ten minutes doesn’t help, it just makes you more annoyed.

ParticipantSeriously, from my experience, yeah, same crap here. Not a full wipeout, just enough bouncing to make you waste half the day checking positions like an idiot. I’m still not buying the “it’s just volatility” line when the same pages keep flipping. That usually means something’s off, even if it’s just Google being sloppy as… In my opinion, Honestly,

meloncrashParticipantYeah, I’m seeing it too. Not the fun kind of “bounce” either, just the usual Google doing laps for no reason. If it’s only a few pages swapping around, I’d still be looking at the boring stuff first. But if it’s across multiple sites, then yeah, feels like one of those lovely weeks where nobody knows anything and everyone pretends they do.

ParticipantYeah, seeing it too. Not panicking yet, but it’s definitely been noisy the last few days. Honestly half the time it’s some dumb site-level thing and people jump straight to “Google update!!” like clockwork. Still, when it’s across a bunch of properties, I’m not exactly thrilled either.

ParticipantUsually, yeah, same here. Not a total disaster, just enough wobble to make you think something’s broken every time you refresh. And nah, I’m not buying the “just volatility” hand-wave either when it keeps happening across different sites. Google loves acting random until it’s convenient to call it “normal.”. That’s been my experience anyway.

orion_kadeParticipantYeah, same here. Doesn’t feel like normal “noise” either, more like stuff keeps getting reprocessed and then shoved back around again. I’m not touching anything…

meloncrashParticipantHonestly, yeah, same here. Not full-on panic mode, but it’s been jumpy enough to annoy the hell out of me. I’ve got one site up, one down, one doing that stupid “gone for 6 hours then back” thing. Kind of feels like Hard not to think something’s being reprocessed again.

ParticipantYeah, same here. Not “site’s on fire” bad, just enough movement to make you keep checking logs like an idiot. Feels more like another reprocessing wobble than anything clean. I’m not touching anything either.

ParticipantYep, seeing it here too. One of my clients had a pretty clean little dip/pop/dip over the last few days and nothing changed on the site, which is always the annoying part. Feels more like data settling than a clean update, but who knows with Google anymore. I’m leaving everything alone for now because every time I’ve chased this kind of wobble it’s usually made things worse.
-

adrian_knoxParticipantIn most cases, yeah, same here. Nothing dramatic, just enough little swings to make you second-guess everything. I’m not touching anything yet either. Every time I’ve tried to “fix” this kind of wobble, I usually just make it worse. Personally,

ParticipantYeah, same here. Nothing that looks like a real pattern, just enough noise to make you waste half a day refreshing GSC like a mug. I’m not touching anything either. Usually when it’s this messy, the “fix” is just me making a mess of it.
-
May 20, 2026 at 7:47 pm #6388
pixelwitchParticipantI mean, yeah, same here. Not a clean pattern at all, just that annoying up/down crap that makes you think something broke when it probably didn’t. I’m with Nathan on this one — I’m not touching anything yet. Every time I’ve “fixed” a wobble like this, I ended up chasing my tail for three days.
-
May 20, 2026 at 9:55 pm #6610
meloncrashParticipantYeah, pretty much the same on my end. Not a clean drop, not a clean recovery, just that annoying wobble where you can’t tell if Google’s doing anything or if it’s just random noise. I’m leaving mine alone for now too. Last time I “fixed” a bounce I ended up making a mess of a perfectly fine page for no reason.
