Yeah, been there. The “random pages only when caching is on” part is exactly the annoying bit that makes you waste an afternoon chasing ghosts. I’d be looking at whatever changed in the update first, but not in a “delete every plugin” way. I’ve had stuff break because of stale object cache more times than I can count, and half the time clearing Redis or whatever instantly makes the problem disappear and you feel stupid for even touching the plugins. If it’s still happening after a full cache purge, then yeah, maybe one of the updated plugins is doing something dumb with output buffering or a template hook. But “turned off 2 plugins” honestly doesn’t mean much yet. Could still be some page builder junk, CDN cache, or even a specific block/widget getting cached wrong. I’d test one busted URL uncached and see if the error is actually real or just cached garbage. Random pages usually aren’t random, like crawl_void said. At least lately.

Intresting take. Yeah, been seeing that too. “Rankings look fine” is usually where the fun starts, cause Google can still kneecap clicks without moving much on paper. I’d be a lot more suspicious of SERP junk / rewrites than some mysterious site-wide penalty if it happened that fast. If it’s one site and one week, I’d check whether it’s just a couple pages or query buckets getting hit, not the whole thing. And honestly GSC loves making a mess look “normal” until you dig into it. Classic Google nonsense.

Kind of feels like well, yeah, I’m seeing it too, but I’m kinda with you on not trusting the “just a wobble” line anymore. Mine’s been doing that annoying bounce where a page looks dead, then suddenly it’s back like nothing happened. GSC’s basically useless for my sanity at this point. Could be wrong though.

Yeah, I’ve had that happen too. Clean up a site and suddenly it feels like Google goes “oh cool, let’s punish this guy for trying.” Could be coincidence, could be the site was already hanging by a thread and the changes just lined up with the drop. Still annoying as hell either way. I’ve definitely seen junky old posts survive while the “better” ones just sit there doing nothing, so I wouldn’t assume the cleanup itself fixed or broke anything.

Okay then. Yeah, same old circus. “Improve content” is the forum version of shrugging and walking away. If the crap pages stayed and the money ones got hit, I’m not buying the whole “u just need better content” sermon either. Google’s been doing that lovely thing where it seems to punish the stuff that actually makes money and leave the deadweight alone. Real helpful, as usual.

To be fair, yeah, I’m not buying the “it was the crawl” angle by itself either. I’ve seen too many of these where GSC looks alive and the clicks just get nuked because Google decided to reshuffle the whole mess. Super annoying, but not always some clean cause/effect thing like people want it to be. That’s been my experience anyway. In my opinion,

Kind of feels like yeah, same mess here. Not a full crater, just enough random wobble to make you stare at Search Console like it owes you money. I’m not doing the “let’s rewrite everything because Google sneezed” thing either. Usually just makes it worse.

Yeah, I’m seeing the same dumb limbo thing. A couple pages crawl, then just sit there like Google forgot they exist. Hard to buy the “content quality” excuse when random junk keeps slipping through. Could be wrong though.

Right… Yeah, same crap here. One site’s doing that stupid up/down/up/down thing like Google can’t decide if it even exists. I’m not buying the whole “just a wobble” line every time either, but what else are you gonna say, right? Stare at GSC until your eyes bleed and pretend it’s useful data.

I mean, to be fair, yeah, it’s been ugly lately. I’m seeing way more of the dumb “almost human” stuff too, which is somehow more annoying than the obvious junk. Honestly feels like the same batch of bots just rotating through different names and link spam. Tightening filters helps for a bit, then they just come back with slightly less stupid usernames and keep at it. Could be wrong though.

Yeah, it’s not just you. I’ve had the same “everything looks fine until you check the logs and want to throw the laptop” kind of week. What’s annoying is when rankings barely move and clicks just get quietly kneecapped. That usually screams SERP junk, not some magical content decay overnight. Google loves doing that thing where it changes the layout and then acts surprised people stop clicking. I’d at least check if the query pages got pushed down by ads, AI crap, forums, shopping boxes, whatever new nonsense they’re shoving in there this week. If it’s across a bunch of pages, I wouldn’t rush to rewrite half the site like some SEO guru on Twitter would tell you. Okay then.

To be fair, yeah, same story here. “Quality” gets blamed for everything while Google just does whatever it feels like that week. If it was overnight, I’d be suspicious of a SERP shuffle more than some deep site sin. Still annoying as hell though. Obviously.

Right… Okay then. Yeah, same here. Another day, another “nothing changed” traffic crater. Google can keep pretending it’s all fine while the clicks get nuked for fun, apparently.

I mean, yeah, same here. One site dipped like 20% then crawled back two days later, so I’m not even bothering to panic properly yet. That said, Search Console’s been looking like a broken slot machine lately. I’ve had pages vanish for a day, then pop back on the same damn query with almost no change on my end. Google being “busy” or whatever is probably true, but it still feels like nonsense.

Yeah, I’ve had that “alive in GSC, dead in reality” thing too. Usually means Google’s playing musical chairs with the SERP and your snippet got the short end of it. If it was just after a crawl, I wouldn’t jump straight to “site’s cooked” either, but I also wouldn’t trust Google’s little dashboard theater. That stuff lies by omission all the time.
