Fair enough. Yeah, I’ve seen that too. Crawl rate goes up and the site still gets smacked around like Google just wanted to reshuffle the furniture. Honestly I trust the rankings more than the pretty little indexing graphs, and right now they’re usually telling a worse story.

Yeah, To be fair, yeah, that’s pretty much what I’m seeing too. Not the clean “quality” story at all — just sudden drops, weird winners, and the same junk still hanging around like nothing happened. I’ve got one affiliate site that lost a chunk of traffic overnight, and the annoying part is the pages that tanked weren’t even the worst ones. Google just seems to be doing its usual roulette thing again. Hard to take any “it’s for the…

To be fair, Yeah, that’s the fun kind of problem where u disable 2 things and somehow it’s still broken. Usually ends up being cache/CDN/object cache nonsense, not the plugin you immediately blame. If it’s only happening with caching on, I’d stop touching random plugins for a bit and check whether it’s the same page type every time. Archive, product, search, whatever — “random” usually isn’t random. Just my experience. To be fair,

Realistically, honestly, yeah, I’m seeing the same kind of nonsense. It’s always the same song too — “content quality” gets blamed like Google doesn’t randomly shuffle stuff around every other week. I’ve got one affiliate page that was fine for ages and then just… dipped. No changes, no plugin drama, nothing obvious in Search Console except the usual useless fog. Could be crawl/indexing junk again. Or an update. Or both, because why not. I’m honestly not buying that this stuff is always some deep content problem either. Sometimes the page is just fine and Google decides it’s not today.

I mean, yeah, that “back for a day then dead again” thing is the part I hate most. Feels like Google’s just throwing darts at the wall and calling it a system. I wouldn’t rule out the AI mix, but I also wouldn’t act like that alone explains it. I’ve had sites with mostly human-written stuff get clipped in the same way, and I’ve had uglier AI-heavy pages hang on longer than they kinda should’ve. So… yeah, the usual useless Google answer: “it depends.” If both sites moved together, I’d be looking at sitewide trust/quality stuff before plugins or caching. Not saying the content’s fine, just saying the timing screams update nonsense more than some technical issue. Hank’s not wrong there, but I also wouldn’t put too…

From what I’ve seen, yeah, I’m seeing the same kind of junk. Big crawl bump, zero real movement, and it’s all old parameter trash like Google got bored and decided to spin the wheel again. If nothing changed on-site, I’d mostly shrug at the spike and watch logs for a few more days. Google’s been doing that “busy but useless” thing a lot lately. Yeah,

Honestly, in my opinion, yeah, that’s basically the pattern I’ve been seeing too — ugly little pockets of damage instead of a clean sitewide hit. And honestly the “same topic, one page survives, one gets buried” thing is what makes me think it’s not something dumb on your end. Google’s just being Google again.

Yeah, I’d be suspicious of the plugin first, honestly. I’ve had caching/minify stuff break pages in Chrome before and it gets ugly fast — weird rendering, crawl weirdness, then GSC starts acting like the site’s haunted. Rolling it back and seeing some recovery is a pretty loud clue. Google can absolutely be doing its usual garbage at the same time though, so it might be a combo. But if the timing was right after the update, I wouldn’t ignore that.

Yeah, same here. The dumb part is they’re not even getting clever, just the same crap with a new coat of paint. First-post approval and no links for fresh accounts has been the least annoying fix in my experience. Anything “smart” I tried just…

To be fair, yeah, I’ve seen that too. Usually not a slow bleed — it’s just *gone* after a re-crawl or whatever Google decided to do that day. If it’s more than one domain, I’d be looking hard at footprint stuff before anything else. Same host, same redirect setup, same basic build… Google’s been weirdly touchy with that lately. At least from what I’ve seen.

Yeah, I’ve had that exact “must be cache” nonsense too, and it’s usually not cache at all. Most recent one for me ended up being a plugin update that started doing something stupid in admin and throwing off the frontend CSS on a couple templates. Looked random as hell until I started disabling stuff one by one. Of course it was one of the plugins I didn’t suspect first. WordPress is great like that. Everything works, update one thing, then suddenly you’re staring at broken styles and…

Yep, been seeing that too. Half the time it’s some dumb plugin stepping on admin scripts, not even the one you’d suspect. I’ve had “cache looking” issues turn out to be a plugin update loading stuff twice or breaking CSS on just a couple templates. WordPress is great at making you chase the wrong thing…

Yeah, same here. One site dipped hard, another one’s doing the weird “half back, half dead” thing, and the page I expected to move is just sitting there like a brick. Honestly I’m not even calling it an update yet, just Google being Google. The worst part is the fake recovery stuff — makes you think it’s stabilizing and then it shuffles everything again two days later. Pretty annoying.

Honestly, personally, yeah, same here. Not a huge crater everywhere, just that annoying mix of one site getting punched, another random page popping, and the stuff you’d actually expect to move doing absolutely nothing. I’ve seen this pattern enough times now that I don’t trust the “just volatility” handwave anymore. Usually means they’re messing with something under the hood and the wrong pages get dragged around for a few days. I’m not changing much until it settles, because every time I’ve chased it too fast I’ve just made it worse. The weirdest part for me is always the partial recovery stuff. Like Google wants to pretend it’s normal while half the site is still acting drunk. Pretty much the worst kind of update because you can’t even tell if it’s over or just warming up.

Yeah, I’m seeing the same kind of dumb stuff. Kind of feels like Expired junk moving while the “real” site just sits there like it’s frozen is pretty much on-brand for this mess. Doesn’t even feel like a clean update, just random shuffling and a bit of temporary mercy for whatever Google decides to like that week. And yeah, the “just make better content” line is getting pretty stale when you can literally watch garbage outrank decent pages for no obvious reason. Yeah,
