Yeah, same here. I’ve got one site that dipped for no obvious reason and another that just sat there like Google got bored halfway through the day. Not touching anything yet either. If it keeps sliding tomorrow then I’ll start digging, but this “random wobble” stuff is getting old fast. That’s been my experience anyway.

Honestly, Yeah, same ugly mess here. Not a clean drop at all, just pages drifting down and CTR getting smashed. I keep seeing people say “check intent” like that explains everything, but half the time Google just changes the whole damn layout and your clicks vanish even if rankings only move a little. Been there too many times. To be fair, That’s been my experience anyway. I mean,

Realistically, yeah, that’s the ugly part nobody wants to say out loud. It’s not even always a straight “AI box killed it” thing either. I’ve got pages where the SERP got more cluttered, CTR went to crap, and there isn’t even some obvious AI answer sitting there. Google just keeps stuffing more crap above the result and people stop scrolling. “Position 3” feels pretty meaningless on a lot of these queries now. If the intent gets satisfied in the SERP, you’re basically fighting for leftovers.

Honestly, I mean, yeah, “not much mystery” is a bit too neat for me. Some of this is Google just shoving more junk in the SERP and calling it helpful, but I’ve also seen pages tank CTR without any AI box showing at all, so it’s not *only* that.

To be fair, yeah, I’ve seen that too. Usually it’s just some dumb burst and then it dies off, but it’s annoying as hell when it lands on your board. If it’s the same junk accounts posting the same nonsense, I’d be checking whether they’re getting past signup or just reusing old sessions/cookies/IPs. A lot of the time the “spike” is just a few gaps in whatever anti-spam setup u already have, not some big mystery. Honestly the part that usually helps most is slowing down the first post, not the signup. People always want to make registration harder, then real users get punished while the spammer just moves on to the next cheap script. Classic forum nonsense. Could be wrong though.

I mean, yeah, same here. Feels like the usual Google mood swing crap. I’ve got one older affiliate page that was hanging in there for months, then it just started wobbling like crazy this week for no obvious reason. No big changes, no “content improvement” miracle, just Google doing its little dance again.

Honestly, Yeah, I wouldn’t trust “GSC looks fine” too much tbh. I’ve had drops where Search Console looked basically normal and the site was still getting kneecapped for a few days. Plugins are definitely worth side-eyeing, especially cache/minify stuff. I’d also check whether the rendered HTML changed vs what you think is on the page — that’s bitten me before and it was dumb as hell. Honestly,

Well, yeah, same here, but I don’t think it’s always “the bots got smarter” so much as they just don’t care if they burn accounts anymore. I’ve had better luck with boring stuff like rate-limiting registrations, making first posts go to moderation, and killing the obvious throwaway email domains. The plugins help a bit, but on their own they’re usually just a speed bump. If the spam is coming in waves, I’d also check whether they’re hitting the same form endpoint over and over — sometimes that’s the real mess. And honestly, if you’re not already, adding one extra friction step for new users usually cuts it down without wrecking the forum. Not perfect, but way less annoying than playing whack-a-mole all day. I mean,

Well, yeah, same here. Mine got whacked on the pages that actually make money, which is always nice and convenient, right? I’m not doing the “panic rewrite everything” thing yet either. Usually just makes it worse for a week while Google finishes whatever dumb little mood swing it’s on. At least lately. I mean,

Fair enough. Kind of feels like yeah, I’m seeing the same kind of garbage. Old junk moves for no real reason, legit stuff sits there dead, and then people still wanna pretend it’s all “content quality” like that explains anything. Honestly the volatility’s been worse than usual on affiliate stuff.

Yeah, I’ve had the same crap happen. Usually the junk pages are just easier for Google to grab fast — lighter HTML, cleaner path, fewer moving parts. Meanwhile the “real” pages have some stupid delay somewhere, or they’re getting crawled but not treated as worth indexing right away. Google’s been especially flaky about that lately, at least in my logs. What I’ve seen help sometimes: – make sure the legit pages are actually getting internal links from stuff Google already knows – check if the spam pages are just way thinner / simpler to render – look at whether the real pages are buried deeper or need JS to show anything useful – see if the junk pages are getting hit by bots more often cause they’re easier to discover And yeah, the “just make better content” crowd can spare me. I’ve had solid pages sit for days while some garbage parasite or tag page gets indexed in a few hours. Google’s not exactly behaving like a rational machine here. Honestly,

Yeah, same garbage here. Honestly, One of mine got hit hard Tuesday, then yesterday it was like “oh look, 15% back” and now it’s slipping again. Honestly I’m getting real tired of the people who act like this is all normal seasonal wobble or whatever. It’s not normal when the exact same pages keep yo-yoing every couple days. Google’s just doing that thing where it pretends there’s a pattern and there probably isn’t. That’s how I look at it.

Yeah, same here on one of mine. Nothing changed, no GSC drama, just a stupid drop for a few hours and then it started wobbling back. I’m with u on the “check your content” thing too — sometimes it’s just not that. Google does this twitchy nonsense all the time.

Kind of feels like kind of feels like yeah, Google’s been doing that to me too. Junk gets in fast, real pages sit there like they’re waiting on a bus that never shows up. I don’t buy the “quality” lecture on this one either. Usually it’s some dumb crawl/rendering path issue or the page just looks easier for Google to slurp up.

Yeah, same here. Not a total flood, but enough junk to be a pain in the ass. What’s weird is it doesn’t even feel random — I’ve had a couple sites get hit way harder on signup forms than comments, which makes me think it’s just whatever bot batch is running this week. Could be the update, could be they tweaked something and the trash moved over, who knows. Google’s always good for making things “better” in the dumbest possible way. I’d at least check whether the spam is coming from the same IP ranges or user agents as before. If it’s new patterns, then yeah, probably not just normal background noise. If it’s the same old garbage, then it’s probably just another wave and we’re all pretending it means something bigger To be fair,. Fair enough.
