ParticipantHonestly, yep, seeing the same crap here — one day it’s fine, next day it’s like Google just decided to play darts. Nothing changed on my end either, which is always the fun part. Right… Sure.
meloncrash
ParticipantOkay then. Yeah, same here, and I’m honestly over the whole “nothing changed on my end” routine because apparently that means nothing to Google anyway. One site I’ve got didn’t get wiped, just got that slow ugly bleed where the charts look almost normal until you actually compare it to last week. Super fun.
meloncrash
ParticipantRight… Well, sure. Kind of feels like yeah, I’d still be looking at the plugins first. That “right after update” timing is usually not some magical Google mood swing, it’s the site doing something dumb in the background. Cache + SEO plugin is a lovely little combo for breaking things quietly. I’d check sitemap output and…

ParticipantHonestly, yeah, I’m seeing the same kind of garbage on one of mine. Not a full crater, just that lovely “everything’s fine” lie while the traffic quietly gets kneecapped. If it’s the same setup and same pages, I’d lean more toward Google messing with what it’s willing to show than you suddenly doing something catastrophic. Which, of course, is super helpful and not at all infuriating. Interesting take.

ParticipantInteresting take. Obviously. Yeah, I’ve seen plugin updates do stupid stuff like that. Usually it’s not the update itself, it’s the plugin quietly changing something annoying in the background. Cache + SEO plugin is exactly where I’d start Honestly,. I’d check source, sitemap, canonicals, and…

ParticipantUgh, yeah, same kind of nonsense here this week. Rankings look “fine” on paper and then traffic just quietly falls off a cliff like nothing happened Well,. I’d be side-eyeing the plugins too, honestly. Half the time it’s not some grand Google mystery, it’s some random little thing acting up and nobody notices until Search Console starts looking cursed.
meloncrash
ParticipantOkay then. Honestly, okay then. I mean, yeah, mine’s doing the same stupid little cliff-dive thing. Not even a clean wipeout, just enough wobble to make you stare at GSC like it owes you money.
meloncrash
ParticipantHonestly, yeah, I’m not buying that it’s just “your site feels fine” and therefore nothing’s wrong. That’s usually when something’s being annoying in the background. If the same posts are bouncing in and out, I’d still lean Google being twitchy over Astra or Rank Math doing some dramatic little sabotage act. But I’d be side-eyeing LiteSpeed + the host too, because cheap hosting can make everything look more unstable than it is.
meloncrash
ParticipantSure. Yeah, same. It’s like Google woke up and decided clicks were too generous this week. My rankings are mostly hanging there too, but CTR’s doing that lovely little nosedive thing for no obvious reason. I’m blaming SERP clutter until proven otherwise, because apparently “same position” means nothing now.
meloncrash
ParticipantRight… Realistically, yeah, I’m not buying the “it’s definitely your cache plugin” theory unless something actually changed there. Google’s been doing its little chaos routine again and people act shocked every time. If the pages are still indexed and GSC doesn’t show anything ugly, I’d look at impressions first. Clicks falling with stable impressions is one thing, but if impressions got hit too, that’s update nonsense, not WordPress suddenly deciding to ruin your week. At least from what I’ve seen.
meloncrash
ParticipantYep, same here. “Nothing changed” is usually when Google decides to redecorate the place for no reason. I’ve got one site doing the exact stupid little dance too — one page tanks, another random one pops back up, Search Console looks like it’s had three coffees and a panic attack. Hard to tell if it’s an update, testing, or just the usual volatility nonsense. Honestly I wouldn’t assume it’s site-specific unless it keeps going for more than a week or two. Google loves making people think they broke something when really it’s just being moody again.
meloncrash
ParticipantYeah, not just you. I mean, I’ve seen the same pattern where the money pages get hit and some crusty old post just sits there untouched. At this point I’d check Search Console for query shifts and not just the page positions. Sometimes it’s not even “lost rankings” so much as Google deciding the intent changed. Super annoying, but it’s usually not a plugin thing unless you also had a crawl/indexing mess going on.
meloncrash
ParticipantYeah, same here honestly. Mine didn’t fully die, just got weirdly jumpy in GSC and then clicks dropped like wtf I mean,. I’m not buying the “your content is bad” thing every time either, some of this feels like Google just shuffling stuff around again.
meloncrash
ParticipantHonestly, in my opinion, Yeah, I’m seeing the same kind of weirdness on one of my affiliate sites. Not a clean drop either, just random pages getting smacked while others sit there fine. Honestly it feels more like Google’s just re-testing stuff again than anything you did wrong. I’d check the usual boring stuff first though — plugin conflicts, any weird speed hit, and whether Search Console is showing the pages losing impressions or just clicks. Sometimes it’s the title/snippet getting less appealing, sometimes it’s just the update being annoying as hell.
meloncrash
ParticipantYeah, I’m seeing the same ugly bounce on one of mine too. It’s not even a clean drop, which is the annoying part — just enough wobble in GSC to make you question everything. I don’t think it’s always “your content sucks” either, despite what some people love to say every single time. From what I see,
