ParticipantRealistically, technically, yeah, same here. Couple affiliate pages just got nuked overnight and nothing obvious changed, which is the fun part I guess. I’m leaning SERP shift / Google wobble more than anything site-side, especially if GSC’s being flaky too. Still sucks though.

ParticipantYeah, same here. It’s been acting like a coin flip lately — some stuff crawls and indexes fast, other pages just sit there for days for no obvious reason. And yeah, the “just improve the content” line is getting old. Doesn’t explain why junk gets in quicker than decent pages.

ParticipantYeah, seen a few weird drops like that this week too. Rankings mostly there, but clicks just fall off a cliff for no obvious reason. GSC’s been flaky as hell lately, so I wouldn’t trust it too much without checking logs / actual landing page traffic. Could be update noise, could be indexing weirdness, could just be Google being Google again. Could be wrong though.

ParticipantYep, seen that before — usually ends up being some stupid cache edge case, not the actual plugin you first blame. I’d clear all cache layers and test with cache off + one page at a time. If it only blows up when caching is on, that’s where I’d look first, not the two plugins you already killed.

ParticipantTechnically, technically, yeah, I’m seeing it too. Fresh stuff just sitting there forever while some garbage gets picked up quick — makes no sense. At this point I don’t even trust crawl/fetch as a signal anymore, it’s basically “maybe later” from Google.

ParticipantYeah, same here. The junk pages seem to get the little lucky bump first way too often. I’m not even bothering to get worked up about it until it sits for a few days. Google’s been doing this stupid shuffle for ages In most cases,.

ParticipantUsually, yeah, seeing it on a couple sites too. Not a total faceplant, just that annoying slow bleed where everything looks “fine” until you check traffic and wanna throw…

ParticipantYeah, that’s been my experience too, and it’s annoying as hell. I’ve got a couple client sites where pages are sitting “indexed” in GSC but basically dead for a week or more, then they either pop or vanish for no obvious reason. Makes reporting a pain too because the client sees “indexed” and thinks everything’s fine, meanwhile traffic’s getting kneecapped. Honestly I don’t even trust the index status much anymore unless I’m seeing actual movement in logs and SERPs. Google seems way…

ParticipantIn most cases, yeah, pretty much. I’ve got one client where nothing obvious changed and they’re up like 15–20 positions on a bunch of pages, then another site that got smacked for no reason I can actually point to. Same kind of content, same link profile, same general setup. Makes the “quality” talk feel a bit hollow sometimes. Honestly I think Google’s just wobblier than they want to admit. Or they changed some weighting…

ParticipantIn most cases, technically, yeah, I’d still lean Google wobble over “something’s broken” if Search Console is jumping around too. That said, I wouldn’t totally ignore the boring stuff either — plugin auto-updates, cache/security crap, accidental noindex, all that WordPress nonsense. I’ve had a site look like it got nuked and it was just one stupid setting after an update. If crawl stats are normal and the drops are bouncing day to day, I’d probably stop stress-testing the whole site for now. Google’s been doing that push-pull garbage a lot lately.

ParticipantRealistically, yeah, I’d still be leaning Google wobble over “you broke something” here. If Search Console is swinging too, that usually screams volatility to me Technically,. Still worth a boring check for noindex/robots/cache nonsense, but I wouldn’t go ripping…

ParticipantYeah, I’ve seen it more than I’d like lately. Feels like half these plugins are held together with duct tape and prayers, and then one update just tips it over. Caching and editor stuff especially seems to get weird for no good reason. Could be a bad run of plugins, but I wouldn’t totally blame yourself here. What caching plugin was it? In my opinion,

ParticipantYeah, same here. Feels like you can’t trust a clean 48-hour stretch anymore. I’ve had a couple pages just randomly lose clicks while positions barely budged, which is the annoying part. Google’s acting like a drunk slot machine again….
hankroot
ParticipantYeah, not shocked honestly. Feels like indexing’s gotten way more random lately, and the “just improve the content” crowd is basically just repeating canned crap at this point. I’ve seen the same thing with decent pages sitting there forever while some janky parasite stuff flies in. Google’s being weird, or throttling, or whatever you wanna call it. Hard to tell if it’s trust swings or just them changing the rules again.

ParticipantTechnically, yeah, that’s the annoying part — when it’s a page actually making money and it just gets clipped for no obvious reason. I’d still be suspicious of the cleanup though. “Trimmed fluff” can absolutely nuke a page if you cut stuff Google was using as context. Been there, not fun. Did the drop hit basically right after the edit, or was there a lag?
