meloncrashParticipantWell, anyone else seeing this or is it just my sites getting the usual treatment? One week a page is sitting there doing fine, next week it’s buried like it offended someone at Mountain View. Traffic’s been weird as hell since last update and I’m honestly tired of pretending there’s some clean logic to it. I’ve got one affiliate page that somehow climbed with half the effort of the “better” one. Makes total sense, obviously. Sure.

adrian_knoxParticipantRealistically, yeah, same here. Feels like you can do everything “right” and Google just rolls the dice anyway. That affiliate page climbing while the better one sinks is exactly the kind of nonsense that makes people stop trusting the whole thing. That’s been my experience anyway.
-
pixelwitchParticipantWell, yeah, it’s not just you. I’ve seen pages with way better content get shoved down while some half-baked thing hangs around like it’s got a protected status. At this point I just assume Google’s doing its usual random nonsense and call it a day. Could be wrong though.

ParticipantIn most cases, yeah, same here. I’m not even bothering to pretend there’s a clean pattern anymore. We’ve had pages with solid links, decent engagement, all that, just get kneecapped while some weaker junk hangs on. Google’s been in one of those moods for a while now. That’s been my experience anyway.

ParticipantYeah, it’s not just you. We’ve had a couple pages that were basically doing nothing wrong and they just got shoved around for no reason I can see. The annoying part is it’s never the page you’d expect. The “good” one tanks, the crappy little side page hangs on like it’s untouchable. Google’s been doing that a lot lately, or maybe I’m just too old and tired to pretend there’s a neat explanation anymore.
-
adrian_knoxParticipantHonestly, Yeah, pretty much. I’ve stopped expecting anything clean out of Google at this point. The annoying part is it’s never even the page that deserves to move. It’s always some random garbage hanging on while the better one gets kicked in the teeth.
-
orion_kadeParticipantFrom my experience, yeah, same. It’s been weirdly random — not even “bad page gets hit” random, just straight-up nonsense. I’ve got stuff that should’ve been dead months ago still hanging around, and then a page with actual traction gets shoved down for no obvious reason. Google feels like it’s just shuffling cards at this point. That’s how I look at it.
-
orion_kadeParticipantYeah, I’m seeing the same kind of garbage. What’s annoying is it doesn’t even feel like a normal reweighting. It’s like Google just decides one page gets to live and the other one gets sent to the basement for a week, then flips it back for no reason. I’ve had pages with way better intent and linking get ignored while some weaker affiliate junk keeps floating. And before hankroot starts with the “well in most cases it’s quality” thing again — no, sometimes it really is just churn. Not everything is a content problem. I’ve had clean pages get hit after an update and nothing meaningful changed on-site. That’s the part that makes it feel extra stupid lately.

ParticipantYeah, same here. Feels less like “an update” and more like Google just kicking pages around to see what sticks. I’ve got logs that make zero sense too — crawl stays fine, then indexing/visibility just drifts for no obvious reason. Hard to blame “quality” when the better page is the one getting buried.
