Been noticing some odd stuff on a couple of my affiliate sites over the last week.
One site in the finance niche is basically holding rankings, but CTR dropped hard on a few pages that used to pull decent clicks. Nothing crazy in position changes, just enough to make me think the snippets are getting less attractive or Google is testing different layouts again.
I’ve been messing around with title rewrites and schema tweaks, but honestly I’m not seeing a huge win yet. Swapped a few generic titles for more direct ones with numbers and year modifiers, and that helped a little on one page, but not enough to call it fixed.
Also tested a couple AI-assisted content updates on older posts. Mixed results so far. A few pages got a small bump in impressions, but the monetization side is still the real test for me. If traffic goes up but affiliate clicks don’t move, it’s kind of pointless.
What I’m doing right now:
– tightening titles to match intent better
– trimming fluff in intros
– adding clearer comparison tables
– testing FAQ blocks for snippet pickup
– watching Search Console daily for CTR changes
Curious if anyone else is seeing the same thing. Are you guys changing titles, or just riding it out until Google settles down?
