ParticipantBeen noticing some odd stuff on a few of my affiliate sites the last couple weeks.
One niche site is basically flat on impressions, but CTR dropped hard on a few money pages. Same rankings, same snippets, but clicks are down enough to hurt. Another site in a different niche actually picked up a little traffic, but only on informational posts that don’t really convert.
I’m trying not to overthink it, but it feels like Google is testing different SERP layouts again or just shifting intent around. I’ve seen this before where a page holds position but the click behavior changes for no obvious reason.
A couple quick things I’ve been testing:
– rewriting titles to be more specific and less “SEO-ish”
– tightening intro copy so the snippet matches the query better
– adding a few FAQ-style sections for long-tail terms
– comparing AI-assisted content vs my older manually written pagesSo far, the biggest win has been on title tags. Nothing crazy, just making them more direct and less generic. A few pages picked up CTR after that, but it’s not consistent yet.
Curious what others are seeing:
– anyone else getting ranking drops without big position changes?
– are you adjusting titles/meta more aggressively now?
– have AI content pages held up better or worse for you lately?Would love to hear what’s actually working in the wild, not the usual “just make better content” stuff.
