ParticipantHey guys,
Wanted to throw this out there because I’m seeing some odd behavior on a couple of my sites.
One of my affiliate sites lost a few positions on some decent money keywords, but traffic didn’t drop as hard as I expected. At the same time, a few lower-volume pages are getting way better CTR than before, even though the rankings barely moved. So now I’m wondering if Google is just changing how snippets are being displayed, or if my titles/meta are finally doing something right for once.
What I’m testing right now:
– rewriting titles to be more direct and less “SEO-ish”
– adding numbers and tighter intent words
– comparing pages with high impressions but low clicks
– checking if AI-written intros are hurting CTR on some pagesI’ve also been messing around with a couple AI tools for content refreshes, but honestly most of them still need a lot of cleanup if you want something that doesn’t look generic. Good for speed, not so great if you just publish raw output and pray.
My main takeaway so far: ranking changes are annoying, but CTR tweaks can sometimes make a bigger difference than chasing another backlink round. Especially on affiliate pages where even a small lift can mean real money.
Curious what everyone else is seeing:
– anyone else getting CTR swings without big ranking changes?
– are you rewriting titles after updates or leaving them alone?
– any AI tools actually helping with refreshes instead of making more work?Would be good to compare notes.
