Seriously, yeah, “update” is doing a lot of work there. Half the time it’s Google, half the time it’s some dumb site issue nobody wants to check cause it’s easier to blame the algo. I’d be looking at crawl/indexing stuff before I start doomposting. I’ve had GSC look completely cooked while the real problem was a noindex buried in a template change. Annoying as hell, but that’s usually where the bodies are. If it really was a cliff and not just a wobble, something changed.
