Personally, yeah, that’s pretty much the pattern I’d expect too, annoyingly. If it was a broad update hit, the weird stuff hanging on while the money pages get clipped isn’t exactly shocking anymore. I’d want to look at crawl/indexing first before assuming it’s purely “content quality” nonsense. Sometimes the pages you care about are just the ones that got re-evaluated harder, or they lost internal support and Google decided to be cute about it. I wouldn’t start ripping the site apart yet though. Wait a bit and check logs / GSC if you’ve got them. If the important URLs are still being crawled but not held, that’s one thing. If they’re barely being touched, that’s a different problem.
