Yeah, I’ve seen it happen after updates too. Usually it’s not the update “causing” spam so much as something in the filters or form handling getting a bit less effective and the bots just pile on. If it’s comments and signups both, I’d be looking at the same boring suspects Nathan mentioned — honeypot, Akismet, whatever anti-spam plugin’s in there. Half the time one… From what I see,
