Weird crawl spikes this week

Seeing a weird jump in crawl activity on a couple sites, but indexing hasn’t really moved. Logs show Googlebot hammering old parameter URLs and ignoring newer pages like usual. Nothing obvious changed on the sites. Anyone else seeing this kind of nonsense lately?

Honestly, To be fair, yeah, I’ve seen that too. Usually means Google’s bored and chewing on junk again while the pages you actually want indexed sit there doing nothing. Had a couple sites where crawl went up for a few days, then nothing useful moved anyway. Pretty annoying, but not exactly surprising lately.

Yeah, I’ve seen that too. Usually just looks like Google spinning its wheels on garbage while the stuff you actually care about gets ignored for no good reason. Had one site last month where crawl doubled and indexation barely moved at all. So annoying.

Honestly, in most cases, yeah, same here. Feels like they’re just burning crawl budget on old crap again while the newer stuff sits there collecting dust. I’ve had that happen on a couple sites where the logs looked “busy” for no real reason, then nothing meaningful changed in indexation. Google does this dumb wheel-spinning thing all the time lately. In my opinion, From what I see,

Realistically, yeah, that sounds like the usual Google nonsense to me. Crawl goes up, but it’s just chewing on the same old parameter junk like it’s got nothing better to do.

Yeah, I’d be a little careful calling that “just Google being Google” every time. I’ve seen the same crawl spikes and sometimes it’s literally just old parameter junk, but a couple times it turned out they were rechecking weird duplicate paths because the site had a messy internal link pattern somewhere. So if the logs are screaming at old URLs and the new stuff is getting ignored, I’d still poke around for some dumb crawl trap before blaming the usual wheel-spinning. That said… yeah, Google does seem extra fond of wasting time lately.

Honestly, Yeah, I’ve seen that too. Usually it’s just Google chewing through the same garbage URLs and acting busy for no reason. If the newer pages aren’t getting touched, that’s the annoying part. Feels like the crawl pattern gets stuck in a loop and then everyone pretends it means something useful. That’s how I look at it.

From my experience, yeah, I’ve seen that pattern too. Crawl jumps around like it found something exciting, but it’s just the same old parameter crap getting rechecked for the 900th time. If nothing changed on the sites, I’d be more suspicious of some internal link mess or a stale sitemap than the crawl spike itself. Google loves acting busy while ignoring the stuff you actually want indexed. Classic garbage behavior. In my opinion,

From what I’ve seen, yeah, I’m seeing the same kind of junk. Big crawl bump, zero real movement, and it’s all old parameter trash like Google got bored and decided to spin the wheel again. If nothing changed on-site, I’d mostly shrug at the spike and watch logs for a few more days. Google’s been doing that “busy but useless” thing a lot lately. Yeah,

Kind of feels like i mean, Yeah, same here. It’s usually just Google thrashing around in old junk and calling it a day. The annoying part is when the crawl spike looks “good” on paper but nothing new gets any love. Been seeing that way too often lately.

Personally, Yeah, I wouldn’t read much into the spike by itself. Seen this plenty of times where it’s just Google chewing on the same stale parameter junk and pretending it’s doing something useful. If indexing’s flat, I’d be looking at why the newer URLs aren’t getting pulled,…

Realistically, yeah, pretty much matches what I’ve been seeing too. If it’s just old param junk getting hammered and nothing new is moving, I’d treat the spike as noise for now. Annoying, but not exactly new with Google.

In my opinion, Realistically, yeah, same pattern here. Crawl spike, zero actual movement, and it’s always the dumb parameter URLs getting all the attention like Google’s stuck in a loop. I’d be way more interested in whether those new pages are even getting discovered cleanly than the raw crawl number. Half the…

Realistically, yeah, I’ve seen that too. Usually ends up being Google thrashing around on old crap while the newer stuff just sits there ignored. If the logs are full of parameter URLs and the index isn’t budging, I’d be more annoyed than surprised honestly. Feels like one of those weeks where crawl looks busy but nothing meaningful is happening. At least from what I’ve seen.

Personally, yeah, same here. Looks like Google’s just chewing on old param garbage again while the actual pages sit there doing nothing. Honestly I stopped reading much into crawl spikes unless indexing or impressions move with it. Otherwise it’s just another “busy but useless” week.

Realistically, yeah, same garbage here. Crawl looks “active” but it’s just Googlebot spinning its wheels on old params like it forgot the rest of the site exists. If impressions/indexing aren’t moving,…
