In most cases, yeah, same story here. The dumb link spam is usually the giveaway — once they’ve got a working signup path, they just keep hammering it until you shut that door. I’d keep it boring: no links for new accounts, first post approval, in most cases throttle registrations by IP/email domain if your board can do it. CAPTCHA on its own is basically cosplay at this…
