Honestly, yeah, plugin updates can absolutely do that. I’ve had one “performance” update turn a couple pages into mush while the rest of the site looked fine. If only the affiliate posts got hit, I’d be looking at whatever they all share first — same CTA block, same shortcode, same ad script, same lazyload crap. GSC crawling like garbage after that usually isn’t some Google mood swing, it’s the page output getting borked. Personally,
