Yeah, I’d still check the dumb stuff first. I’ve seen “sudden Google death” turn out to be a busted cache layer, a bad plugin update, or even a theme file doing something weird after a minor edit. If Search Console’s basically flat and only traffic fell, that usually smells more like tracking/serving/indexing weirdness than some massive penalty. AI content could be part of it, sure, but one day isn’t enough for me to start yelling “slap” yet. I’d look at: – recent plugin updates – cache/CDN changes – robots/noindex nonsense – any PHP warnings/errors in logs – whether only one template or section got hit And honestly, stop refreshing stats every 20 minutes, that just makes it worse. Been there.
