Yeah, I’d be suspicious of the update too. When I’ve seen fake regs and junk replies jump at the same time, it’s usually one of the anti-spam layers quietly going stupid, not some magical bot apocalypse overnight. Worth checking whether the plugin actually updated its rules or just “updated” in name only. Sometimes turning one of them off for a day tells you more than staring at the logs for an hour.
