Yeah, plugin update is still the first thing I’d blame. The “some pages tanked, some random junk started getting clicks” pattern screams output change to me, not some clean sitewide ranking drop. I’ve seen it from cache weirdness, canonicals flipping, and one bad template change more times than I care to remember. Google usually isn’t that tidy when it’s the cause.
