Yeah, pretty much. “Update everything” is fine until one boring little plugin decides to drag the whole admin into the ditch. I’ve seen that exact thing too — not even the plugin you’d blame first, just some dependency or script conflict and suddenly you’re clearing cache, disabling stuff, reloading the dashboard like an idiot. Half the time the changelog says “minor fixes” too, which is always good for a laugh. Honestly I don’t trust bulk updates on anything important anymore. I’ll do them in chunks and wait a bit unless it’s a security thing. Otherwise you’re just volunteering to be the tester for whatever broke this week. And yeah, “could be wrong though” is doing a lot of work there. Sometimes it’s not a cache issue, sometimes the update really is just trash. That’s how I look at it.
