Yeah, not just you. I’ve seen the same stupid flip-flop stuff — page gets hammered, then a little recover, then buried again like nothing happened. The “just improve content” line is getting old when the SERP is clearly tossing in junk and Reddit for no good reason. I’d be wary of changing too much too fast. That’s how I look at it.
