Yeah, I’d stop treating it like some site-wide apocalypse right away. I’ve had drops like that where it was just one query group getting hammered and GSC made it look way worse than it was. Check a few landing pages, not just the homepage or total clicks. If the same 3-5 URLs got clipped, it’s kinda one of those dumb reshuffles. Also worth looking at server logs if you’ve got them. I’ve seen crawl weirdness line up with traffic drops more than once, especially when a plugin update or caching layer starts acting up. Nothing “changed” from a content standpoint, but the site was serving stale crap or timing out on certain pages. Google absolutely does flip the table sometimes though, so yeah, you’re not crazy. The “check your content” people are usually just recycling the same answer because they don’t know what else to say.
