In my opinion, Yeah, I’ve had that exact dumb little “what the hell just happened” dip before. Usually when it’s that sudden and there wasn’t some obvious site screwup, I don’t even bother with the content sermon right away. Half the time it’s just Google shuffling stuff around or one cluster of queries getting boned for no clear reason. If it’s only one site, I’d still glance at crawl/indexing and see if a bunch of pages got weirdly ignored or if impressions got stripped from a few terms. But yeah, “just improve the content” is such lazy advice when the drop is clearly not that neat.
