ParticipantBeen testing this across a couple of niche sites the last few weeks and thought I’d share.
I’ve got one site in the home improvement space and another in a smaller affiliate niche. On both, I added simple FAQ sections near the bottom of some money pages — nothing fancy, just real questions people actually ask before buying.
What I noticed:
– CTR improved a bit on a few pages that were already ranking page 1
– Time on page went up slightly
– A couple of pages started picking up extra long-tail traffic from questions I didn’t even target directlyI’m not saying FAQs are some magic trick, but they seem to help when the page is already close to converting and just needs a little more trust/context.
I also tested AI-written FAQ blocks vs. ones I wrote myself. The AI ones were faster, obviously, but the manually written ones felt more natural and matched search intent better. The AI version had a bit more fluff, which I’m trying to avoid lately.
For monetization, I’m seeing the best results when the FAQ answers lead cleanly into a product comparison or a short recommendation. If you just dump FAQs in there with no flow, it doesn’t do much.
Anyone else testing this? Curious if you’ve seen FAQ sections help with:
– rankings
– CTR
– affiliate clicks
– or just user engagement in generalAlso wondering if Google’s recent changes are making these “supporting content” sections matter more than before.
