Yeah, I’ve seen the same pattern. Not site-wide, not some dramatic “penalty” thing, just weird lag on certain URLs while the rest of the site behaves normally. What’s been more telling for me is when the delay is selective: – new URLs from the same template get discovered fast on one section, slow on another – crawl hits are there, but indexing just doesn’t follow – pages eventually flip after a few days, sometimes after nothing changed at all That’s why I’m not buying the usual “your internal links are weak” hand-waving unless it’s actually consistent across the whole site. If logs are clean and you’re seeing normal crawl activity, it’s typically just Google being slow/choosy for whatever reason. I’d be more suspicious if it’s tied to one of these: – thin-ish pages in a batch – near-duplicate clusters – pages buried under a weird nav path – lots of similar URLs getting discovered at once But if one site catches up and the other just drags for days with no obvious difference, yeah, that smells more like crawl/indexing queue nonsense than a real technical problem. Google’s been in one of those moods for a while.
