ParticipantBeen noticing some odd stuff on a couple of my affiliate sites this week.
One site is basically flat on impressions, but CTR dropped hard on a few money pages. Rankings didn’t move much, just enough to be annoying. Another site in the same niche actually picked up clicks without a big position change, so I’m guessing Google is messing with how snippets are being shown again.
What I’ve been testing so far:
– rewriting titles to be more direct and less “SEO-ish”
– changing a few meta descriptions to push a clearer benefit
– updating FAQ sections to match the intent better
– adding a couple of comparison tables for the affiliate pagesNothing crazy yet, but the pages with more specific titles seem to be holding up better.
Also curious if anyone has seen AI-assisted content getting hit harder on CTR lately. I’ve got a few pages built with a mix of AI + manual editing and they’re still ranking fine, but the click rate is definitely not as stable as my older hand-written stuff.
For monetization, I’m seeing the usual pattern:
– informational pages still bring the traffic
– comparison/review pages still convert best
– but if CTR slips, the whole funnel gets ugly fastAnyone else tracking this? Would be good to compare notes on what’s actually moving the needle right now instead of the usual “improve content quality” talk.
