ParticipantHey folks,
Been noticing some odd movement on a couple of my affiliate sites over the last few days. Rankings didn’t really tank hard, but CTR is all over the place. Some pages are holding position 3-5 and still getting way less clicks than usual, while a few lower spots are pulling more traffic than expected.
I’m mainly in the affiliate SEO space, so this kind of stuff matters a lot for me. I’ve been testing a few things:
– rewriting titles to be more benefit-driven
– adding year modifiers where it makes sense
– tightening up meta descriptions
– switching some pages to more direct commercial intent wording
– using AI to speed up title/meta testing, but still editing manuallySo far, the biggest wins seem to come from changing titles, not so much from meta descriptions. Nothing crazy, but enough to make me think Google is showing different SERP behavior depending on query type.
Also seeing some pages with decent impressions but weak clicks, which makes me think snippet quality is a bigger deal than people admit. I’ve had a few pages jump back up just by making the title less generic and more specific to the actual search intent.
Curious if anyone else is seeing similar stuff:
– CTR drops without major ranking loss?
– Any title tweaks that helped after the update?
– Are you guys still using AI for snippet testing, or doing it manually?Would be good to compare notes. I’m trying to keep it simple and focus on stuff that actually moves revenue, not theory.
