ParticipantBeen noticing some odd stuff on a few of my affiliate sites over the last couple weeks.
One site is holding roughly the same average position, but CTR dropped on a bunch of money pages. Another smaller site actually picked up clicks without much movement in rankings. Nothing dramatic, just enough to make me go back and check titles, snippets, and SERP layout changes.
What I’ve tested so far:
– rewrote a few title tags to be more benefit-focused
– tightened up meta descriptions on pages with high impressions but weak CTR
– swapped a couple of headings to better match the query intent
– checked whether AI Overviews / extra SERP features were pushing organic downSo far, the biggest win has been on pages where I made the title more specific and less “SEO-ish.” Stuff like adding numbers, year, or a clearer outcome seems to help more than generic keyword stuff.
Also seeing a small bump from pages that answer the query faster in the first 2-3 lines. I know that’s not groundbreaking, but it seems to matter more lately.
Curious what everyone else is seeing:
– CTR up, down, or flat after the update?
– Are you changing titles or leaving them alone?
– Anyone finding better results with AI-assisted content, or is it still hit or miss for affiliate pages?Would be good to compare notes because Google feels a bit noisier than usual right now.
