Been noticing some odd stuff on a few of my affiliate sites this week.
One of my review pages moved up a couple spots, but CTR actually dropped on desktop while mobile stayed about the same. Another page lost a bit of traffic even though the rankings barely moved. Nothing dramatic, just enough to make me think Google’s testing something in the SERPs again.
I’m mostly running simple affiliate funnels, so I watch this stuff pretty closely. If a page ranks but the click rate tanks, the whole monetization side gets messy fast. I’ve been tweaking titles and meta descriptions on a few pages, and honestly the plain, direct ones seem to do better than the “clever” stuff.
Also been testing some AI-assisted content updates on older posts. Not full rewrites, just tightening intros, adding a few comparison tables, and cleaning up CTA placement. A couple pages bounced back a little, but it’s too early to call it a win.
Curious what others are seeing:
– any CTR shifts after the update?
– are you changing title tags or leaving them alone?
– anyone actually seeing better affiliate conversions from AI content edits?
Would be good to compare notes, because right now it feels like the usual Google shuffle.
