Been noticing some strange stuff on a couple of my affiliate sites over the last week.
One of my review pages dropped a bit in average position, but the bigger hit was CTR. Same rankings, same snippets, but clicks are down more than I expected. On another site, a few pages actually moved up a little and CTR improved without me changing much.
I’m testing a couple things right now:
– tightening meta titles so they look less generic
– adding a bit more intent match in the first paragraph
– comparing AI-written intros vs. manually edited ones
– checking if certain pages are getting pushed lower because the snippet looks weak
I’ve also been watching Search Console like a hawk and it feels like Google is testing different SERP layouts on some keywords. Some affiliate terms are just getting hammered with ads and forums above the fold, so even decent rankings aren’t pulling like they used to.
Anyone else seeing this? Curious if you’re fixing CTR with title rewrites, schema tweaks, or just letting it ride for now.
