ParticipantHey folks,
I’ve been watching a few of my affiliate sites this week and noticed some pretty odd CTR changes after the latest Google update. Nothing crazy on the traffic side yet, but some pages that used to pull decent clicks are suddenly dropping, while a couple of lower-ranking pages are getting more attention than before.
Most of my sites are in the SEO/affiliate space, so I’m always looking at what’s actually moving revenue, not just rankings. Right now it feels like Google is testing different SERP layouts again, because the same pages are holding positions but the click behavior is all over the place.
A few quick things I’ve been testing:
– rewriting titles to be a bit more direct
– tightening meta descriptions around the actual search intent
– adding comparison-style sections higher up the page
– using AI to speed up content refreshes, then editing heavily
– pushing a few internal links to pages that already convertSo far, the biggest win has been on pages with commercial intent. Informational posts are still getting impressions, but the monetization just isn’t there unless I funnel them properly.
Curious if anyone else is seeing the same thing:
1. Are your rankings stable but CTR is changing?
2. Have you found any title tweaks that actually helped after the update?
3. Anyone using AI content refreshes on older affiliate pages with good results?Would be good to compare notes. I’m trying to keep things practical and not overthink it too much. If a page can’t make money, I don’t care if it “looks nice” in Search Console.
