Been noticing some odd stuff on a couple of my affiliate sites over the last 2 weeks.
One site is basically flat on rankings, but CTR dropped hard on a few money pages. Another one actually picked up a few spots, but traffic didn’t really move much because the snippets seem to be getting ignored more than usual.
I’m mostly working with affiliate SEO, so this is annoying as hell when the positions look okay but the clicks don’t follow. I’ve been testing a few title tag changes and tweaking some meta descriptions, but honestly it feels like Google is just rewriting a lot more snippets lately.
A few quick things I’ve tried:
– added more direct benefit keywords in titles
– shortened some titles that were getting cut off
– tested more “best X for Y” style angles
– swapped a couple AI-written intros for more human-sounding ones
Mixed results so far. Nothing huge.
Also curious if anyone else is seeing a difference between informational pages and money pages after the update. My AI content sites seem to be holding okay in the long tail, but the affiliate pages are definitely more sensitive.
If you’ve got any practical CTR tweaks that actually moved the needle, I’d be interested. No theory stuff, just what’s working right now.
