Hey folks,
Been noticing some odd CTR movement on a couple of my affiliate sites over the last week. Rankings are mostly holding, but clicks are bouncing around more than usual. One page dropped from position 4 to 6 and the traffic hit was way bigger than I expected.
I’m testing a few things right now:
– rewriting titles to be a bit more benefit-driven
– adding more direct comparison wording in meta descriptions
– tightening up FAQ sections to match search intent better
– swapping out some generic AI-written intros that probably weren’t helping anyway
One thing I’ve learned the hard way: a small CTR boost can matter more than chasing another half-point of “better content.” Especially on affiliate pages where the SERP is already crowded with Reddit, forums, and big brand sites.
Also messing around with an AI tool to speed up content refreshes, but I’m still manually checking everything before publishing. Most of these tools are fine for drafts, but they still need a human pass if you care about rankings.
Curious what everyone else is seeing:
– any CTR drops without major ranking loss?
– are you changing titles/descriptions after updates?
– anyone found a simple way to recover clicks fast?
Would love to hear what’s actually working, not the usual SEO theory stuff.
