ParticipantHey guys,
Been noticing some odd CTR movement on a few of my sites over the last couple weeks and wanted to see if anyone else is seeing the same thing.
A couple pages that held steady for months suddenly dropped clicks even though average position barely moved. One of them is a pretty standard affiliate review page with decent intent traffic, so it’s not like the topic changed or anything. Another page actually picked up impressions but CTR tanked hard.
What I’ve tested so far:
– rewrote titles to be a bit more specific
– added a few FAQ sections to better match intent
– changed one meta description to be more “benefit-first”
– tightened internal links to the page from related postsResults so far are mixed. One page bounced back a little, the other didn’t really care.
I’m starting to think this is more about SERP layout / intent match than just title tweaks. Feels like Google is testing different stuff on my queries or maybe just pushing more features above the fold.
Also curious if anyone has had better luck with AI-assisted title testing. I’ve been using ChatGPT to spit out 10-15 title variations, then picking the ones that sound the least spammy and most human. Works okay, but not magic.
If you’ve seen CTR drops recently:
– are you changing titles/descriptions?
– testing schema?
– focusing more on brand style titles?
– just leaving it alone and waiting it out?Would be good to hear what’s actually working in the wild, not just theory.
